Senior Research Scientist

Job Description

Seeking a creative, motivated and confident Ph.D.  Scientist with a strong background in immunology to apply immunological techniques in support of ongoing Autoimmune disease, Immuno-Oncology drug discovery and development programs. The ability to drive projects towards completion while having a urgency to obtain key scientific results is critical. Thus, as a part of a team of entrepreneurial scientists this individual will be hands on designing and implementing experiments using mouse and human immune cells. The focus of this position will be to examine new drug effects on human immune cells to utilize, validate and characterize novel immunological pathways.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in cellular/molecular Immunology
  •  Experience with in vivo models of immune response (Tumor models, autoimmune disease models such as IBD, GVHD etc, adoptive cell transfer).
  • Expert knowledge in basic immunology principles and cell-based assays.
  • Capable of designing, implementing and presenting research data in meetings and seminars.
  • Direct hands-on experience in executing and troubleshooting common immunological techniques to include phenotyping, differentiation and characterization of human and mouse leukocyte subsets; ELISPOT, ELISA.
  • Experience running primary cells in 8+ color flow cytometry followed by data analysis.
  • Experience working with regulatory T cells, Myeloid-derived suppressor cells and/or other leukocytes (PMNs, B cells etc.) in mouse and human samples.

Research Scientist

The ability to drive projects towards completion while having an urgency to obtain key scientific results is critical. Thus, as a part of a team of entrepreneurial scientists this individual will be hands on designing and implementing experiments using mouse and human immune cells. The focus of this position will be to examine new drug effects on human immune cells to utilize, validate and characterize novel immunological pathways.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ph.D. and postdoctoral experience in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Cell Biology
  • Experience with methods to measure protein-protein interaction and binding methodology (SPR, yeast two-hybrid, library screening)
  • Practical experience using in vitro cell-based assays as well as protein-based binding assays. In addition, biochemical and biophysical characterization methods such as chromatography, electrophoresis, and mass spectrometry is preferred.
  • Direct hands-on experience in executing and troubleshooting protein based screens including but not limited to:
    • Transient and stable mammalian protein production and purification of antibodies, ECD-Fcs, and untagged secreted proteins.
    • Characterization of protein products, determination of purity and aggregation levels to provide the highest quality therapeutics for in vitro and in vivo functional studies.
  • Experience with protein engineering and design would be a value-added skill.
  • Capable of designing, implementing and presenting research data in meetings and seminars

Associate Research Scientist

Job Description

Seeking a creative , curious and project driven BS/MS Associate Scientist with a strong background in molecular biology with additional training in immunology to support ongoing Autoimmune Disease drug discovery and development programs. As a part of a team of scientists this individual will study human immune cells with a particular focus on human T cells and myeloid cells to help us identify, validate and characterize novel immunological pathways.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • BS/MS in Molecular Biology or related field is required.
  • Proficiency in using a wide range of laboratory techniques including plasmid expression design and constructions and protein based purification techniques. Experience with Cripser/Cas9 or similar mutagenesis techniques desired. In addition, experience in basic immunological techniques such as ELISA, ELISPOT, flow cytometry, T cell functional assays, immune cell isolation are desired.
  • Excellent lab practice and sterile technique a must.
  • High level of curiosity and willingness to problem solve on your own.
  • Provide high level of initiative in a small company environment including being a self-starter.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The successful candidate will work as part of an interdisciplinary team contributing to the design and execution of experiments that support our research activities and project goals. M.S. with 5+ years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry or equivalent.
